I am writing to complain about the (lack of) quality of the Martex sheets I purchased. I am seeking to have my money refunded, $20 purchase price plus $1.40 in tax. Upon repeated washings (during a month or so period), the pale blue sheets developed white splotches.
I have already sought relief from the consumer affairs department who essentially wrote to me that, since I
purchased the sheets at Big Lots, I shouldn't have high expectations.
Yes, I concede that Big Lotsis not a bastion of high quality merchandise.
However, when I buy a Martex product at Big Lots or anywhere else, I expect the high standard of quality for
which Martex is known.
I am writing to you, because, although my refund request is really quite small, and I could let this matter go, for some reason this injustice of my buying a supposedly high quality product like Martex which turned out to be defective and my having no recourse is bothering me. This is the first time in my life I have appealed to the officers of a company seeking
relief.
I believe the right thing to do is to refund my money (and tax).
Please consider the matter yourselves and determine what is fair.
