I am so glad to finally see something on the internet about Bill Young and his company Hallmark Building Company and how he has taken advantage of his vendors and subcontractors for years along with many unhappy homeowners. I worked with the Bill Young on and off for several years. Biggest mistake of my life. He still owes me money for professional services.
He came up with lots of excuses as to why he would not give me my final payment including that he needed to close more homes before he could release my check. When I threatened legal action he said he would sue me back and drag my company through the mud. There are many times while I was with Bill Young that he would brag about "ruining" other subcontractors.
Bill Young has a huge ego. Anyone who confronts him is immediately cut off and not paid. I would encourage anyone who is seriously looking at working for Bill Young and Hallmark Building Company or Rocky Mountain Homes in Colorado Springs think twice. Its just not worth it.
I believe he builds and ok house but if the homeowner is any trouble at all he also threatens them and cuts them off from buying the house. Over the years, I have heard him brag about all the houses he refused to close on with what he considers a difficult homeowner. Ask any other established builder in Colorado Springs how many homes that they considered doing the same thing and I bet its not too many and they certainly do not brag about it. I completely understand that any business person has the right to refuse to do business with someone but Bill Young takes it to a whole new level.
I caution anyone who is considering doing business or buying a house from Bill Young and Hallmark Building company to think very hard before moving forward.
