Alegria is a scam and committed fraud against me. I had visited the apartment site on 8/15. I placed a holding deposit on an apartment after speaking with the leasing agent, who assured me that I had 72 hours to change my mind and that my check would be destroyed upon my request so that I did not have to make an additional trip to their office. The next morning, I decided that the complex wasn't right for me and called to cancel my deposit. I left a message requesting that morning requesting the check be destroyed, as promised. When I failed to receive a call back, I called again the following day, and left another message
requesting that the deposit be canceled and the check be destroyed.
On 9/15, I saw that the check had been deposited and the money withdrawn from my account. I had to call several times before I was finally able to speak with the property manager. She said that they had it on record that I had canceled the hold, and could not provide an explanation as to why the check had been deposited. She assured me that I would receive a refund.
However, I still have not received my refund and Alegria has continued to be unhelpful and vague resolving this issue.
