Sears has NO SERVICE

All my life I have been a good Sears customer - windows, appliances, paint, clothing, etc., but I have finally decided that I have spent my last dime with Sears. I had to call for service four times for the ice maker on my refrigerator before I finally got a technician that could solve the problem. When I had windows installed I had to send the installers away when they tried making the framing fit by pounding it in, then they resorted to a sawzall to resize it. I was left with a gaping hole for weeks while I waited for another installer. My latest complaint is with a Kenmore HE-2 Plus Front Load Washer that is less than 4 years old. I call for service in April because it started sounded like a jet airplane taking off during the spin cycle. The "technician" did a "diagnostic" test and told me there was nothing wrong with it. He refused to actually run the machine to listen to the noise. He told my to purchase the extended warranty as that would be cheaper than paying for all of the service calls. I purchased the "warranty" for $227.89. I put up with the noise for weeks, all the while getting more angry at having to listen to the noise. I finally called Sears again to arrange for another try at "service". Of course it was a couple of weeks before they could schedule it, which put it in the middle of my vacation and a family reunion. Therefore, the first appointment I could get wasn’t until Aug. 9th. Unfortunately I had to cancel the Aug. 9 appointment due to a necessary medical appointment. This brings me up to August 16 when I was finally able to schedule another repair appointment. I had to leave town for a funeral but waited all afternoon for the technician to arrive, knowing that I would have to drive 4 hours in the dark. Late in the afternoon I got an automated phone call saying that I should call an 800 number to reschedule the appointment. After listening to confusing menus and entering my phone number four times I finally got to talk to someone. Unfortunately I couldn't understand her, except to learn that I could arrange to take another half a day off on Aug. 27th to wait for another repair technician - one that probably wouldn't show up or would fail to fix the problem.By this time I was extremely frustrated and let loose with a swear word, at which point the unintelligible person on the other end of the line hung up on me - so I still didn't have a repair appointment. I DO receive a couple of automated phone calls every day telling me that I need to call the 800 number to reschedule my repair appointment. My roommate went to the local Sears store for me since I was too mad to even talk to them. She arranged a Sept. 6 appointment (the machine will never make it that long). She asked to speak to a manager but there wasn't one available. They said they would have the manager call as soon as he returned. Of course we received no phone call. What would you do??? I am preparing to dump the machine on Sears doorstep, make a big sign and carry it around the mall parking lot for a couple of weeks. Then I'm going to demand that they return my $227.89 for the warranty since it doesn't do any good if you can't get service. Finally, I'm going to go out and buy a new washing machine - ANYPLACE BUT SEARS.
