In Febuary of 2011 we went in to America's Mattress in Foley to purchase a two XL twin mattressess to fit in our King Size bed frame. We were shown two Vera Wang (Serta Mattresses) and an accompying electronic bases by Serta that the store manager guaranteed would fit into our bed frame. The purchase prices was almost $4000.00.in order to have them deliver to us we were told all he needed was to charge our credit card but they would not post the charge until the bed was delivered and we were satisfied. Two weeks later the beds arrived, they were NOT the Mattresses we were shown in the store and the Bases were NOT from the manufacturer we were shown on display and were from another company called ERGO! The motor controls were so Noisy, you couldn't even hear a person speak because of the noise! The mattress bases were 6 inches below the side rails. One mattress is 1 and a half inches higher than the other one! The beds did not fit the frame if you sat on the side of the bed you also sat on the wooden side rails... They were so low... We called the store manager Vern who sold us the bedding, Vern said he "upgraded us" to better bases than the ones we were shown and demo'ed in the store, and that the mattresses would "level out one had more "air" in it than the other... It would take about 30 days! Vern said he would order longer leg extentions on the bed and would be back to us... After two weeks we called to learn that Vern had mysterioulsy and suddenly left his job and there was no manager in the store.! I put a hold on my payment through Discover Card, and America's Mattress presented as evidence of the purchase a "contract" specifying the substituted material Mattresses and Bases as evidence of my purchase, along with a note saying that there was not guarantee... However THE "CONTRACT" is UNSIGNED!!! Becasue they never presented it to me when I made the purchase! They will sell you what they want and change the paperwork!!! I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau and they did not respond to them either! To date now almost September, No communcation, and no reasonable effort is made by this company to resolve a thing! We have simply been cheated out of $4000.00 and left with merchandise we DID NOT PURCHASE in the STORE! No one will respond to our requests to pick up the merchandise or make good on this fraudulent transaction! Do Not Buy From These Unscrupulous People!
