I saw the ad of GSM Garage Doors-Gates-Fences in the San Diego North County PennySaver, promising "FREE Estimates".
However, they charged me $45.00 for a call out fee. I called them, referred to their ad and explained and was told that I called them initially under the wrong phone number (!?...) and therefore they will keep charging the $45.00 (this according to "Mary", the "supervisor" that I had asked for after "Diane" the initial phone contact, on 1-800-501-0772, "explained" the ad with the FREE Estimates" is only good for new installations...
So much for a written promise...
The guy from GSM that came out to look at my garage door problem (broken spring) gave me a quote of $475.00 (!) to replace both of them. I will get this done from a different company at $175.00 (and even that sounds like a lot of money).
