Do yourself a favour and stay away from this builder. We bought our house 2 years ago and are still waiting for 1st year warranty repair work to be done.
They use all the cheapest subcontractors that they can find most of whom cannot do a sufficient job. We have replaced 8 toilets in 2 years because they don't flush properly. To get these people to come back and look at your problems is the hardest task of all.
The most recent and worst problem is that the grade and drainage of the lots is not done properly and they refuse to fix it. Our whole stree has complained because we sit at a lower elevation than the houses behind us and as a result get there rain water coming into our yards. My old neighborhood was the same however the builder/city but drainage along the back fence to compensate for this problem. It is going to cost me $3000 to repair myself. Everytime it rains, the water pools in the yard and stinks for days until it dries up. All our grass has died between the houses and a lot of the backyard too. I had a grass specialist come in and say that they did not put the recommended 4" of top soil underneatht he sod before they layed it. This has resulted in a neighborhood of yellow grass!
Lastly when we bought our house we were told that there was a section at the end of the street where 32 condos/townhomes were going to be built. It turns out there is going to be over a hundred in this small area and that they would be stacked rental units which brings down everyones property values.
Needless to say we are very disappointed with Reid Homes and already have plans to move in the near future. My neighbours and I all have the same opinion and from my experience I will never by from them again.
