I engaged Sunstar Pools for chemical service starting the month of May. I soon realized this service was inferior and cancelled about May 20 (my pool was full of algae and I opened the chlorinator to find that it was almost empty.) Service calls stopped immediately. I did not sign a contract. I wrote off the May $75 monthly fee to "experience."
Sunstar sent me another bill around May 25 for June service. My wife erroneously paid for June service via a check dated May 28. I emailed Sunstar on June 2 and explained the error. I asked for reimbursement for prepayment for June service. I received no pool service for the month of June. I received no response to my email. I tried calling, but received no response. I have documentation of emails and cancelled checks.
While the disputed amount is only $75, I felt an obligation to file a report on usacomplaints.com after I found other complaints on the web. My recommendation is to avoid Sunstar Pools located in The Woodlands, Texas.
