Gentek aka Gentek Building Products
Manufacture will not repair or replace defective product (Fascia)

The steel fascia on my remolded home was installed in 1998 and I noticed that the paint on it blistering and peeling in June.

Notified the installing contractor, who inturn, referred me to supplier of product, Norandex. Norandex told me to contact the manufacture, Gentek, and provided thier telephone number.

Claim filed with Gentek on October 12 by telephone. I subsequently received Gentek's claim form, completed same and mailed it to them on December 13. Claim included photographs, letter from Norandex confirming that the steel fascia was a Gentek product, paint samples of defective fascia and receipt for same product one year later as the installing contractor could not locate the original receipt for the purchase of product for home.

Claim was denied by Gentek on February 21 stating the supporting documentation did not satisfy their requirement for proof of purchase.

Gentek is a major manufacture and supplier of home siding and related products and should be held responsible for their actions.
