I gave Crockett Log Homes in Westmoreland, New Hampshire a $16,000 deposit for a log cabin valued at $160,000 in 2003. They strung me along for a year then called me to tell me they WILL NOT build my home AND would NOT refund my money "because they didn't have to". I contacted 11 attorneys @ $100 each. They ALL insisted Crockett Log Homes had the system beat!
I went to Cheshire Superior Court to place a lien on their real estate. There, the court confirmed there were already $3 million in liens against property worth only $300,000. I didn't bother. (Since then, I've met other people who were robbed, too.)
I then, called the Attorney General's office in New Hampshire. He insisted "Consumer Fraud" was NOT his jurisdiction. So I called the Attorney General's office in Washington DC. There, they said the Attorney General's EXACT jurisdiction in New Hampshire IS Consumer Fraud! Talk about a dead end!
