I hired Merry Maids at the suggestion of my realtor to prepare my house for its first "Open House" showing. The charge was steep ($100/hour) but I thought if they helped sell the house, it was worth it. No way. They broke a shower door, left cobwebs on high ceilings, left the floor grey with dirt, spoke in Spanish on their cell phones the entire time and didn't seem to understand me when I pointed out things they'd missed. On the way out, they broke a Chinese pot and left the shards in my driveway. When I complained, the managers offered to reimburse $100 of the $300 spent, but that check never arrived. A total disaster.
