We called Pacific Island Movers to relocate us from California to Hawaii. We explained how much furniture we had and they gave us a great price $5,400 and promised us everything we asked for.
Just prior to the move, we asked them to come to our home just to make sure we did not have more items than the space we were paying for. After they looked at our furniture, we were told it would be $8,000. We were short on time, so we agreed to the price.
When the moving truck arrived, the head guy wanted to charge us an additional $1,300 for wrapping our furniture and labor. After numerous phone calls and explaining it was already included in the contract, they agreed to do the job.
When it was down to the last few items, I was told that we had exeeded our space limit and I was to pay and additional $540.00 if I wanted my last few items. We settled for $200.00.
We were told our household items would arrive on or around 3/10 at the time of our escrow to close on our home.
Then it was 3/20, then it was 3/28/22, then it was supposed to leave the port 4/3.
To this date, everything we own is still sitting in a wharehouse in North Hollywood California with no sign of when it will even be shipped. They give us every excuse in the book.
We are sleeping on a air matress and wearing all of the same clothes we came over with since 3/1.
When we call they are very unprofessional and have hung up on us many times.
We are unsure if we will ever see our belongings again.
