On 2 Feb my heater for my house stopped functioning. Since the temperature outside went down to 25 degrees Fahrenheit, it was cold in the house. I tried to contact capital home shield, since I had signed and paid for a contract for 2 years ($424.00). They sent me paperwork and assigned me Policy & on 8-25.
I first attempted the phone number given and got a busy signal three times. On my 4th attempt, the operator came on and stated that the number was disconnected. I got to the website, it indicated that they were having problems with their phone system.
So I tried the email address and stated my concerns and asked them to contact me. Needless to say, they never responded. I tried several times with no success.
I finally could wait no longer and called out a heater repair company. They came out and charged me $509.00 to fix my system. This came out of pocket, of course. I tried several more times to contact Capital Home Shield with no luck.
So now I am out of pocket $933.00. I looked on the internet and found usacomplaints.com and decided to let everybody know that they should definitely stay away from Capital Home Shield, unless they just want to throw their money away, which if they did, I would be glad to accept any contributions toward my bills.
