Last winter during snowmegeddon, I contracted with Henry's Housework to clear ice and snow off of my roof. They sent me a bill for approximately $1,000.00. I thought it was high, but I intended to pay the bill until I discovered that Henry's Housework was charging me double what they charged my neighbor. They say that I agreed to what they charged, which may be true, but I was desperate to get the snow cleared, and at that point I did not know that they were charging me twice what they were charging others.
I offered to settle the bill for what they charged my neighbor, each of the dozens of times they called me. They continued to refuse a settlement and referred my case to a collection agency. I made the same settlement offer to the collection company. Each of the dozen's of times they have called, they say they will look into it and each time a new person is on the other end of the phone and they have no knowledge of previous conversations.
The disputed bill remains unresolved. Despite my endless offers of settlement, their collection agency continues to harass me.
If you decide to work with them, which I would not recommend, ask them for references in your neighborhood and make sure they are not gouging you and charging you double what they charge your neighbors too.
