Called Luna to get an estimate on carpeting for one small room. They sent a salesman from 3 towns away (according to that salesman) to get an estimate. Everything started good, but noticed how pushy he got towards the end. Not only did he quote us $650 for a small room (which Home Depot will do for $300 installed) he would not understand that we wanted an ESTIMATE. I told him I didn't care if everything was $50, I just wanted an estimate. Money isn't an issue and he asked me "if money isn't an issue then why won't you set this up?" and "why would you shop anywhere else if we are the best?". I even asked him for a business card with his quote and his reply was "I don't have a business card and if you call Luna again you probably won't get me". After he figured out that I was not signing up for anything, not even a $25 deposit to hold the offer (which I knew I wasn't going to get back), he packed up and his exit comments were "thanks for wasting my time". I do not ever want to deal with commision based salesman, there is no reason for Luna to send a pushy salesman over to my house who knows he is there for an estimate. This should not be a commision based business. I don't need a 'middleman' to collect $250 profit to tell Luna 'hey guys, go to this address and install this carpet'. Would you pay $25 per word?
