Mortgage Auditors of America LLC
Forensic audiotr and Loan Modification

We signed up with Mortgage Auditors of America LLC back in November. We were told that they would investigate our mortgage to determine if we were victims of predatory lending. I heard about this company through a Pastor who was at a meeting with other ministers. MAA presented to them about their forensic auditing and loan modifcation program. We decided to call them because we were months behind on our mortgage and in a Adjustable rate mortgage and needed help.

We met with Deborah Thurt and Tim James, he is the National Sales Director of the company. They told us that the company has trained lawyers that will investigate our mortgage lender. Because my mortgage had been through the hands of four different lenders, they were confident that we had some violations. They promise us that we would either get a settlement or have our mortage modified to a fixed interest rate.

The cost for the service was $1995, the first payment of $500.00 was paid to them in December and another payment in January. We still owe two more payments that they have not bother to request it from us. We stopped payments because we had problems trying to reach them. The phone was disconnected and we would go by the office and no one will be there. I spoke to Deborah Thurt that informed they had taken on too many referrals and had to basically shut down to service the current consumers before taking on any more. She also indicated that they had brought in more lawyers and consultant agencies to help them out. My lasted attempt to contact them was on 4/12 by going to the office. This when I learned they had moved out with no forwarding address.

In February they sent a correspondence letter to contact this agency for assistant with a loan modification. We are currently working with the agency. The agency offers free services. The agency indicated that they do not have a partnership with MAA and that they have been getting a lot of their clients. To date I or my mortgage company had not receive any responses since February. I have on two occassion in the lasted few weeks received a voice mail call indicating that MAA is running 21 days behind due to restructuring of the company and to follow up with modification agency they referred. Unfornately, we have fallen severly behind in our mortgage and it's by God's grace, we are not in foreclosure as of yet although; we are in pending process for a loan modification. Since this company has obviously failed to help us with anything we should get all our money back
