NEVER go to JoAnn fabrics to have anything of value framed. I went there to have 2 large photos framed. They said it would be about 2 weeks until they were ready. Two weeks passed and they called to say that the person who measured the photos did it incorrectly so they would have to order new frames and it would be about 2 weeks. They called in a week and said they ordered the wrong frames for the photos did I want to come in and see if they would look ok that way. I went in and after a long wait (they have the most unprofessional staff of anywhere I have ever been) the woman brought out my photo flapping in the wind and almost bent it in half when she went to lay it on the counter. I asked what happened to my picture and the plastic and cardboard that I had brought it to them in. Then I noticed it appeared to have been folded and was covered with finger prints and marks. The woman working there said she was not the normal framer but it is not the policy to keep things in plastic and they just do not have time to put things in and out of the plastic. She had no answers to what had happened. The photo appeared ruined to me. She then appeared with my other photo which was mounted to a board. It also was covered with smudges and finger prints. They promised to have the "frame" person call on the next day she was in. She called and assured me they would be able to clean the photos and they would look as good as new. I went to pick them up and the one on teh board was ok but the other looked like someone took a pencil eraser and smudged the whole right side. Where there was a fold, I could still see and now the top had marks as if it were poked with something. The girl who was there at that point said she remembered they were not in that condition when I brought them in. I asked what they were going to do about it and of course no one there could help me. The following day the first idiot manager called me and based on what the employee said they promised to replace the photo. I told her how much it cost and she said no problem but she was not sure what to do about a refund. Then she called back and said that it was a corporate matter and they were only responsible for the first $250. It took corporate a few weeks to get the paperwork for the refund (I am now out another $450 because the photographer gave me a deal to replace it). I went in and signed the papers for the refund - it took over 30 minutes for them to find the paperwork. It has been over a month and no refund and when you call customer service they cannot help you and I do not dare try to deal with the idiots at the North Hills store. I think on the application for that store they require you to check a box that says cranky, stupid and lacking any personality. I will never spend another cent at that store!
