Ripoff the business that doesnt give a dam

I bought a small enterntainment center at Furniture Warehouse. They delivered it three days after I bought it. While delivering the furniture, Tim and Tom scratched the hardwood floor in my hallway, scratched and chipped the paint off the newly painted room into which they moved the furniture, scratched and ruined the new furniture they were delivering AND made a huge pull in the new berber carpet in the room.

They were extremely rude and refused to take responsibility for what they did to the carpet. Even though my son was home and reiterated what I told them - that the carpet was brand new and perfect before they arrived, they still said they didn't do it. They told me that if I thought I could do a better job moving furniture then I should move it myself.

They said that there was no way they could have ruined the carpet and that customers many time ruin something and then try to blame the delivery men. I was crying because I had saved for such a long time to purchase the new items in the room.

When I contacted the store, the salesman/manager, who on the day of the sale kept me in the store for about 15 minutes extra chatting and being very friendly, pretended not to know me. His name is Lou.

They sent their service manager to my home a few days later (Eddie) and he was very nice. He said that the carpet could never by repaired. He said that he could see that it would have to be replaced. He took the name of the store where I had purchased the carpet three months before and told me he would talk to the store and see how long it would take to get a new carpet delivered. He even said that he would personally come and help me move the new TV out of the room since the carpet store does not move electronics.

When I spoke to the store the next day, Eddie behaved as if he had never given me any indication that the problem would be rectified. He said that he reported the problem to Lou and that they talked to the delivery guys (Eddie's brothers, by the way) and that they had determined that the delivery guys were telling the truth. Consequently, no reparation wouid be made to me because the delivery guys had no reason to lie.

I asked to be reimbursed the delivery fee, but no one from the store ever got back to me.
