Service was requested on heating and air conditioning unit. The issue was diagnosed as the gas line into the furnace was not operating or was shut off. The cost was at least $185.00/hr. I was uncertain if I should proceed and I told the service man that I was going to consider my options.
I did not authorize the service technician to correct the gas line issue. When I was on the phone to the gas company, the technician went under the house and fixed the gas line problem.
I was charged for the hourly service of $185.00 a diagnositic fee.
Again, I did not authorize or consent in any way to the repair. No verbal or written agreement was made.
When I spoke to the Director of Operations for Econo Air, K. Flores, the gentleman belittled me and spoke to me in an arguementative and arrogant tone. He had no desire to resolve the issue.
Companies that do not observe standard business practices, which include transparency in charges and verbal / or written consent should be penalized for customer abuse.
