I submitted a request for a loan modification with Home Modifier on April 9. Paul Fries was the rep who was assisting me. I paid an up front $1750 fee. They said they could get quick responses from my mortgage lender due to their great relationship and experience dealing with all the major lenders and that they had pull to get a quick approval and get them to pull strings.
I wasn't getting much communication from HM so I started contacting my lender and getting as much information as possible and relaying it to HM. They got nowhere with my lender and my lender (BOA) told me that they don't deal with third parties and that they would only deal with me. They recommended that I stop doing business with Home Modifier and that they work with me solo.
I sent a certified letter written on my behalf by an attorney. I filed complaints with the BBB and the state attorney general's office and I've yet to receive any response to any of my complaints. I've been leaving daily voice mails and emails for people at the company with no response. The BBB said that the owner contacted them and told the BBB that they were out of business.
I'm trying to figure out how to get my money refunded to me and I'm at a loss as to what to do.
Please don't use this company; they are worthless!
