In checking my bank statements, we discovered that Identity Secure of or ID Secure has withdrawn $139.99 from our account. This alarmed us because we were not familiar with this company and had not given ID Secure any authority to access our bank account.
I called my bank to confirm that ID SEcure had accessed my bank account and was told that they had withdrawn $139.99. My bank gave me their phone number and so I called to find out who they were and why they had takeout unauthorized funds from my bank account.
I spoke with a man who identified himself as Frank (no last name) I asked him why they had removed those funds without my athorization. Frank told me that I had given them authorization when I used a $5.00 coupon that was sent to me by Brylane Home. According to frank, this coupon enrolls me automatically in an identity security program and that I was sent a confirmation letter to that effect informing me of the enrollment. I informed Frank that I had not used any such coupon ever and that I never had received any confirmation letter either.
I demanded that the money be returned to me as soon as possible. Frank apologized and said the money would be returned in the "next billing cycle".
I then emailed a Brylane Home service representative Cesar Avalos who then directed me back to customer service! This was not satisfactory and so I contacted Brylane Home again, this time a Michael Delgadillo responded with a like email asking me to contact customer service, again.
Fed up with this run around, I phoned the Brylane Home customer service and asked them why they had given my bank account number to ID Secure when I had given Brylane Home no authorization to do so? I was given the ID Secure phone number and was asked to contact them directly.
My main complaint is that confidential information that I shared with Brylane Home as a repeat customer over many years, was given out to another company without my authorization! This is a fraudulent practice and unaccepatble.
