Richwood Properties RIP-OFF & WORSE! City does nothing! Destroyed a neighborhood violates occupancy rules has properties sold for non-payment of taxes yet retains properties unscrupulous practices quality of life destroyed by this company

Richwood Properties is the worst kind of business; one that moves into an area and destroys everything in its path - the City of Morgantown allows this crap to go unchecked!

Either the city of Morgantown is on the "take" from this company, or the owners of this company change identities too quickly for the city to keep up with their unscrupulous practices.

Approx. 5 years ago the owner of this company began buying houses (owner-financed) throughout the city of Morgantown, WV. His "mission" was to convert beautiful old single family homes into student rental property. Some 10 of these properties are located on Forest Ave. And Baird Street; two blocks from the downtown area, and two blocks from City Hall. Likewise, there is a child day-care center and a Presbyterian Church within 500 feet of this group of properties, and a county school board office within 100 feet of this block of properties.

(The type of entities and their distance to this jerk's properties become very important)

The area of Forest Ave./ Baird Street, today, is little more than a slum. Thanks to the city of Morgantown turning a blind eye to this company's antics, there are as many as 20 people living in houses that cannot SAFELY accomodate more than 5. There is trash scattered EVERYWHERE, broken beer bottles, drug parapanalia, and dog feces littering the sidewalks make it impossible to walk without walking in the line of traffic.

There are as many as 3-5 dogs in nearly EVERY house this company owns (?), there is furniture on most every porch, broken windows, and MORGANTOWN (a "TREE" city) allowed every tree to be cut down!

Likewise, the drug use/trafficing in this area goes unchecked; asking local law enforcement to help is a joke - the City of Morgantown ignores the problem. Asking the owner to intercede is met with a "hmmm... Sounds bad" reply. There are CHILDREN present in VERY CLOSE proximity to all this!!!

Last year, the local newspaper published its list of "Properties for sale due to unpaid property tax"; this company had nearly ALL of its properties SOLD at auction. However, the owner STILL owns the properties. A quick check on the State of West Virginia SOS website shows that Richwood Properties is NOT owned by the entity that purchased these properties at auction; another slick move!

Richwood Properties puts lives in danger; the lives of their tenants are in danger from unresolved health and safety issues, others who own property / live in the area are in danger of those same issues. Other owners' property values plummet as a result of Richwood Properties and the City of Morgantown NOT addressing the aforementioned issues. The children who attend the daycare mentioned ealier are in danger of dogs running at large, broken glass, trash, and drug use/trafficking -all of which Richwood Properties condones, and the City of Morgantown REFUSES to address!

It's all about $; Richwood Properties has destroyed an entire 3 block area in the short space of 5 years, and the City of Morgantown (Best Small City in the East... HA!!!) allows the rampant destruction of a once beautiful old residential neighborhood.
