I purchased a loveseat from Levitz which was delivered in defective condition. The store sent me to Customer Service where numerous calls were answered with a recording about excessive call volume, and the suggestion that I call back another day. That should have been my first clue to the extent of Levitz's problems with customer service.
Finally, I was directed to the Presidential Line for customers who have experienced serious breakdowns in service. That call was answered by an individual who was both rude and condescending. She explained that someone would be sent to "assess" the defect, which would take a month to schedule unless I chose to miss another day of work. After the assessment, Levitz will decide on "appropriate action." I asked how I would be compensated for the situation, but was told their only response to poor customer service is a $30 coupon for future purchases.
Needless to say, I won't be making any future purchases at Levitz! However, in addition to this report, I am challenging the deposit I paid through American Express and lodging a formal complaint with the local BBB.
