My wife and I placed an order for granite countertops on Nov. 14. We had the man measure our kitchen countertops about a week later. The installation date was set for Dec. 23. On Dec. 6 we were contacted and asked if we'd like to move the installation date up to Dec. 21. We agreed and I worked like a madman ripping out the existing countertops and preparing the kitchen for the new ones. Needless to say they didn't show or call on Dec. 21. I called several times with no response. I drove to their showroom on Dec. 22 only to find an Out of Business sign on their door. There were also 3 letters left from customers that were also stiffed and left without countertops. Fortunately, we only paid half when we ordered, and used an American Express card. We called and they will take it off and dispute the charges. However, we are now days before Christmas with no kitchen to speak of. I wish I could wring someones neck from Rocktops for not calling to explain the problem. Next time I will deal only with someone reputable and that's been in the business for a long time, that I know won't run away with the money. We are going to Lowes tonight for our granite countertops.
