We also bought a Lennar home in League City-Bay Colony subdivision in 9. All of our tile is coming up in our kitchen because of the tar paper underneath. The rep that came to visit us said that this is a "standard installation practice" I have yet to find a tile person that has ever seen this method used as it will not last. We also had no electrical boxes behind the bathroom fixtures.
The other very aggravating method used by the contractors was to use a drill as a stud finder. Our walls above the cabinets look like swiss cheese. Recently we experienced Hurricane Ike. It has been discovered that on the roof ridge and other shingles none of the plastic protective strips over the adhesive were removed, hence very large areas of shingles peeled right off in long rows. The other home builders in the area didn't have this happen?!
So my suggestion is especially for the roof installation and tile that a class-action suit be started, since tile should last the lifetime of the home and it won't. Don't buy a Lennar home either!
