E-Z Movers
Took our furniture and ran

Like many others I've now been reading, I was taken by E-Z Mover's low cost and friendly initial service. Unlike others, I didn't get overcharged for their cubic foot problem, but I didn't know about the weight, not volume.

We had to choose 3 days that they could pick up our belongs. It happened to be a Mon-Wednesday before my wife and I got married. I flew in to join her on Saturday, and we had Sunday to get things together. They called Sunday asking to come that day. We couldn't do that. Fortunately they were able to come Monday.

We packed everything up, except the furniture, but we also packed the mirror. They added a box over the plastic we put on and charged us 30 dollars for that!

They told us to call 7 days before the earliest arrival date so they could start moving our items. We did this. Our earliest arrival was the 16th of August. The contract said they have up to 7-10 days. It did NOT SAY business days. Given they wanted to pick up a day early on a Sunday, i am assuming 10 days.

We called on the 22nd when it hadn't come. We had plans to be out of state that weekend and we wanted to know when our items would arrive given Monday the 25th was the 10th day. They said, no, they had until the 29th. I didn't argue, but we called on the 26th and 27th.

We have called daily since then, and it was always the same thing "we are waiting for a driver". We have been told 2x we will be reimbursed 15 dollars a day for lateness, although nothing is in the contract. We got a phone call from the driver today, it is on the way. But we still don't know when. Based upon other reports here and other reviews it could still be weeks.

They want the cash upon delivery and we have to mail in a request to get refunded those 15 dollars a day. It sounds like we will see nothing. I am hoping we actually get reimbursed and there are no damages. I'm not hopeful based on what I'm reading.

Is there some class-action lawsuit going on? My wife and I are tired of sleeping on the floor, and I fear that they will start giving us more 18wheeler excuses and extra charges breaching their contract further.

Everyone needs to stay away from E-Z Movers!!!
