Thursday the 17th of July we had out sewer line back up into our basement. Seeing as it was 2100 we were rather limited on our choices of plumbers to call. We decided to call Mr. Rooter due to the fact that they take credit cards, are on call 24/7 and do not charge overtime fees. We called shortly after 2100 and were sent to central dispatch. About 2130 we finally heard from the tech who said he would be on site in an hour. He finally showed up around midnight with a helper. I showed them the problem and tried to stay out of the way, but I stayed were I could see what they were doing because I've been burned by contractors before. They spent all of five minutes working on the line. Pulled the auger out and sent the camera in. Found out that a small wad of roots were in the line. After seeing this they packed everything up, announced that they had done all that could be done and they were going to map the line and find the septic tank. They spent another thirty minutes of not listening to me about where the line and tank are, I had already located them due to the fact that this summer I was planning to build a deck and didn't want to put it over the tank or lines. After doing what I would call putzing around in my back yard for awhile they stopped and wanted to talk about coming out the next day to dig it all up and clean any roots out of the tank, which would start at a cost of $500 to get the equipment on site and go up from there. At that point they stated that they were ready to settle the bill. Now it was early morning I was tired I had to get up for work in just a few hours and my wife was trying to sleep already and they said that they were done and the line was open, so I paid the agreed upon price, $360.82. That was Thursday night early Friday morning. Here I am four days later looking at a work invoice that plainly says that the charge was for clearing the line and I quote "the line was cleared of all blockage, " and my basement is flooded with sewage again. I called them at 1800 and said that they needed to come back and do the job right and that I wasn't going to pay another dime. At about 1830 the tech called me and gave me the run around, so i handed the phone to my wife who has more self control to let her handle him. He was informed that he had two choices, come out tonight and fix what he said he fixed or we would call the credit card company and dispute the charge. He agreed to come out tonight after she told him that. At 1840 he said he had a couple of people ahead of us but we would be number three and would be a while. She asked him that if he was going to be more than two hours to please call us. Two hours came and went with no word. We called to see what was up and he tried to say that he never said he would call us or that we were third inline. Again I handed the phone to my wife and let her handle him. He gave her the run around but she straitened him out and he said he was still at the first job and he would call when he left that one to the next so we would know about when to expect him. And he would not be much longer at the first job. It is now 2230 and now I cant get ahold of him for an ETA. I am giving him until midnight to get here and finish the job or I am calling central dispatch and telling them to pull us off the job list and that we will be calling the card company to dispute the charge. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Whatever you do, do not let this company into your house, they are worthless.
