Franklin Homes at Raisin Ridge
Con Artists, and bold faced liars false promises, tricked and lied to us, deceptive ripoff MANUFACTURED HOME builder. Run run run! -Bellville

I was looking to purchase a manufactured home last yr, I went to Franklin Homes at Raisin Ridge, in Monroe, Mi to look at and hopefully buy.

I found a home of my liking and price, and sat down with the salesperson to figure out the details and finance this home, and put a deposit down, to hold the home. All was well, got a phone call back, after calling daily to see the status of a loan that they would "know the answer" to by the next day, if not 2 days tops. The salesperson told me, " Just calling to tell you the loan was approved", "the home is yours", "we just have to set up an appointment to close, and have to talk about your trade" I was using my moms current manufactured home for a trade, as my mom would be moving with me, so i could take care of her.

The Manager of the company came to my moms, looked it over, and offered her a price of $6,000 for the home, which was fair, seeing it was a single wide home, and 12 yrs old. He told us he would submit the quote, and to contact the salesperson in the next day or so, to set up a closing.

I contacted the salesperson the folowing day, and was told, "we are just waiting for my finance manager to set up an appointment to close, but all is good, and the house is yours"

In the mean time, my mother and I had made several trips to see the home we were buying, and showing other family members our new home, on one visit, another salesperson asked my mom if she was looking at "that" home, my mom told her we had put a downpayment on it, and were just waiting for closing, the salesperson told her, "oh I did not know it was already taken, my friend wants to buy that home too and we just put the paperwork in on it this morning"

Well, on Sunday of that week, we went back to the home on our way to purchase new furniture, and items for the home, talked to the salesperson again, and she assured us we were still in.

We went shopping, had everything set up, and just had to give a date to deliver, got home, and on the machine was a message from this same salesperson we had been dealing with, saying there was now a "problem" and to give her a call. I finally got in touch with her tuesday, after many calls and messages left for her, when I did talk to her, she told me that we were not approved now, but they did have other homes we could look at that we would be approved for.

Needless to say, the "shit" hit the fan then. She told us, that the paperwork was filled out wrong, the manager was only gonna give us $3500 for our trade, instead of the $6000 he had quoted us previously, but failed to inform us of his decision.

I called both the finance manager, and company manager, both fed me a bunch of lies, and placed blame everywhere but on themselves, of course, who got the brunt? The salesperson, they said it was her fault entirely, even though both of them, had to look over, and approve the deal, yet the manager told me I picked out a different home, he would be able to give me $6500 for my trade, now all of a sudden the price went up, when i mentioned about the other salesperson's friend wanting to buy the same house, and I that i was aware I had gotten the shaft, he was willing to do whatever to get me into a house I wanted, "just not that house" but would not discuss why He could not get me into the house I was already "approved" for.

To cut the story short, the salesperson we used, packed up, and left, after 5 yrs of employment, she called me to let me know, she had seen this same thing over and over, and it was the last time she would be involved in anything like it again, and as we were speaking she was packing up her stuff and walking out on them.
She did take all of our info, and folder with her, and assured me that she had another company that could get me closed in 3 days, if i was willing to let her make it up to us. I did, and she did come threw for us, we got a better deal, and no excuses, lies, or deception this time, we looked at our currnet home on wednesday, and closed that same friday.

In reference to Franklin Homes, it took months for me to get my deposit back, and had to threaten them with lidigations to get it. If you are thinking about buying a manufactured home, do not go to them!!!
