We wished to rent a mobile home from these people, and when we got there the day before we were to move in, the home was infested with cockroaches.
There were several holes in the floor, mold, and rotted wood paneling. They would not even drop $100.00 to have the funk from the last tennants cleaned out.
Gene said to me the place was cleaned, then later he said "the law doe not require me to have someone come in and clean it" I believe any common decent person, would have it cleaned between tennants. Pine Sol, and bleach smells much better than the funk of people living somewhere for many years.
This was a friday afernoon we discovered the place was a hell hole, we had toured it when the last family lived there, and they were home during the veiwing which made us feel uneasy. But their furniture and curtains, and stuff hid most of the flaws. Once we seen all the cockroaches, we left, me in tears, Gene Feerrar was unreachable, at least he didn't answer his cell phone.
I'm (I Hope) Temperarly disabled from an accident I had Nov. and I've had 3 back surgeries, my boyfriend has 4 herniated discs in his neck. We had to rely on the kindness of others to help us move. Everyone and there trucks were coming in the morning. We had to run out and find a storage unit at 5pm on a friday night.
We had only a week to get our stuff out of the current apt, we had already told our old landlord it'd be ready for his remodel june 1. We had to store our stuff, and stay with my wonderful sister.
I spoke to Gene when he returned from his trip, and said I'd just like my money back so we can get another apt. He to date has not giving me one cent of my $1600.00. He said it was my fault the home wasn't ready because I did not provide him with a list of repairs.
I asked if he'd move his family in that very day, (May 26th) and he said after some repairs he would. I told him he shouldn't think my standards were lower than his, but he went right back to "But you didn't provide me with a list if things needing repairs"
This man had the nerve to call me spoiled because I wanted to live in a clean home. This just shows me how dirty some people are.
It's now 3 weeks later and I did get a call from this man last week, saying he has another home coming up for rent, and he wants to fix this so I should call him to come see the other home. And about 5 days after this last call, this GENE called me and said "I just want you to know what repairs I am doing to this mobile home". After I said if you don't want to issue me a check, I'll have to take you to court. He still called with this disturbing message.
I'm taking the court papers to file them this week.
