I received a telephone solicitation call that sounded too good to be true. The company had already done a soil sample analysis of my lawn and said that my grass had grey spot leaf fungus and that their treatments would cure this. They offered me a 6 month package (they would treat once per month) to fertilize my lawn, my trees, my shrubs.in fact just about anything outside of the house! Additionally, they offered weed pre-emergent treatment that would kill and prevent weeds for a full 90 days. They also offered a pest treatment that would rid my lawn of pests for 90 days. To top all this off they offered a guarantee on erradication of the gray leaf spot fungus of a full 5 years! All for a low 1-time fee of just over $200. Wow... What a deal...
The reality is very different...
The 1st appointment was scheduled for a 3 hour window of time, and I dutifully awaited their arrival... No one came. I had to run an errand so I left the house for about 10 minutes, with my wife and child still at home. On my return I heard that the doorbell rang once, and by the time my daughter walked from the kitchen to the front door she saw a red truck pulling away. She retrieved a letter and an invoice from the door.
I immediately went outside to inspect the work all the time thinking how did they cover my entire property in less than 10 mins? Well I checked the shrubs, the trees, the grass... Absolutely zero sign of any spraying of fluids of any kind and no sign of any granular mixes either. However my invoice stated that today I had received "Complete lawn fertilization, shrub fertilization, tree fertilization, deep root formula" and to add to that a hand written note saying "all the problems treated".
I called the company's phone number and you guessed it... Had to leave a message. To their credit, they returned my Saturday call late on Sunday evening and said that an inspector would be out tomorrow to re-check the soil and to collect the check for the 6 month package.
At this point I complained that they guy came and left and the only thing my property received was an invoice attached to my front door. The answer was that it was company policy not to treat before the package has been paid for. Then why provide me with an invoice claiming that the full set of services have been done today?
I told the person to cancel my business effective immediately... They complied.
Please be careful when dealing with this company as they are not operating in a professional manner.
