My pool was built three years ago and just recently has it been noted that my heater was not placed within code. The code states that it has to be 5ft from any window. It was sitting at only 2 feet away, they have now moved my heater but refuse to move the rest of the equipment with it.
I now have a pump sitting in one space and 4 to 5 feet away, I have my heater. That means that I also have 4 to 5 feet of water pipe running from one piece of equipment to another. The look is terrible and not to mention what it has done to the over all value of the property. They can not honestly tell me either what will happen to that pipe in the next 5 to 10 years, or what kind of problems I will have.
I have already had more than my share of issues with the equipment, the decking and the entire pool in general.
I also based decisions of a sitting area due to the fact that the equipment would not interfere with this area. Well now it does because the heater is sitting two feet past the end of the house, right next to my sitting area.
Blue Haven claims their only responsibility was to move the heater so that it is now in code. But why was it not placed correctly at the time of construction? How did they get past all of the inspectors?
I now want them to place "all" of the equipment exactly as it should have been done at the time of the original construction. I have the original blue prints that show where and how the equipment was placed. I do not believe I am asking for too much.
I have called the General Manager on three different occassions and as of today I have faxed a letter to his attention. As of this writing I have not received a response. My next step is an attorney and to contact the Better Business Bureau.
