We contracted with Sunrise Pools of Plano, Tx on 2/7/07. Almost a year later, on 12/30/07, we are not close to completion. No progress has been made on the project for almost 6 months; however, much damage has been done to our home and property.
UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE: Despite the fact that we have paid 90% of total contract costs, the pool owner says he does not have enough money to complete our pool at this time. He occasionally sends workers to do various things (like move dirt from one side of the yard to another). To date the work provided is unacceptable. Examples include bad deck with no rebar in concrete, coping stones being cut wrong, plumbing installed wrong and pool position and shape wrong.
CONSTANT BROKEN PROMISES: We have been told "tomorrow" or next week for months. No follow through on verbal commitments. Owner signed an addendum to contract saying he would complete the pool by 11/16/07 or refund us the money required to hire another company to complete work — he then refused.
Not only will he not make progress towards pool completion, but he will not haul off his own garbage from our yard. Owner also refuses to refund any of our money so we can hire a competant company to complete the work and return our yard to a safe place.
