I went to contract to purchase two townhomes for investment purposes. I was told that they would have basements, 9' ceilings, come with a boat dock, would be a certain color ect.
Turns out the builder lied about all the above and since I want to back out of the deal (because everything changed) they want to keep my earnest money of $6,000.00
They claim I ordered and they instaled "custom" options (floors and cabinets ect) and therefore they were out the expense of the materials ect. First of all there was NOTHING custom about the place. The only thing we did was pick the colors for the carpets and cabinets (standard). I just drove by last week 8/18 and there is NOTHING done to the inside. No floors, no cabinets, it's an empty shell. The earnest money was held by them and their attorney refuses to return my calls.
Stay away from these people, they are crooks!!!
If there is an attorney out there that wants this case, give me a ring.
