Frank went to work as a tub refinisher. He seemed very interested and looked like a good prospective employee. I trained him for four weeks and gave him all the equipment needed to do the job plus all chemicals needed and let him go out on his own. The first couple of jobs went o.K. And he brought back the checks from the customers without incident.
On Thursday July 19 he went to a customers building to refinish 2 tubs and a wall surround. The job totaled $800. Friday morning he called to say he was in Wisconsin at his daughters house because her firefighter husband fell off a ladder and was seriously injured. Somthing did not add up in my mind nad I checked internet reports of injured firefighters in Wisconsin & found none.
Frank called Saturday morning to say things did not look good. Sunday he called & said the husband had died. I checked all internet reports of dead firefighters & found none.
I tried to reach the customer several times the following week to no avail. I finally reached her today and asked how she paid her bill. She said Frank told her make out a check to him as him & I were business partners, we are NOT partners. Frank is not returning my phone calls now.
Frank Jacquest ripped off $800 in cash and $2,000 worth of equipment & supplies.
