I was really distressed, I had a new roof put on my house and it wasn't covered up in time and it rained in my house, causing a lot of damage. On April 12, I looked in the Verizon Phone Directory and selected several names to do drywall work for me. Several contractors arrived including Ace Italian American Dry Frank Corsaro. The other contractors could not start immediately but Frank said he could. He not only said he would start on Sunday April 13 after I got out of church, he under bid the other contractors. The total job cost was $825.00; I gave him $100.00 cash (which I documented on the check) and $312.50 check. He said the cash would be for supplies, drywall, insulation and beading.
When Sunday came he and his son was waiting for me when I arrived. I was uncomfortable because he did not have supplies and I commented to him that his tools were dirty and he kept asking me to go the the ATM and give him cash for the 312.50 check and I refused. He rushed through my house dropping joint compound everywhere (hardwood floors, antique desk, clumps on the wall) and was walking out the door when I asked him what about the rest of my house (per our contract) (my walls had been cut out in my room because of the water damage and was open). He went to his truck and got some scrap drywall and screwed 4 pieces to the wall and said he would be back. I called him immediately and demanded that he return my check, he said he was too far away and he would bring it later in the week.
Monday morning came and he called me at 7:30 AM and begged me to let him complete the job he stated that he would never rip anyone off and he wanted to make it right, I believed him. Well, Saturday April 19 came and he called and said he was sick he broke his tooth and had a fever and he would be at my house Sunday April 20. Needless to say not only did he not show up, but he turned his phone off. I finally reached him on April 21 and demanded my money back. However, I have not had any success.
