I purchased a popcorn maker online from Steinhausen Overnight in September '08. After a week or so, I sent an email to the owner, David Long asking why it had not been shipped out yet. He finally replied that they were out of stock, but if I paid $50 extra he coud send me a different colour.
I said I would wait. He said It wold be sent out for sure on October 21.
That date came and went and it was still not sent. I emailed again and he said that it was because I owed another $30 US to ship to Canada. I sent it. Still no tracking number. I then looked into filing a dispute with PayPal, but David Long's message on PayPal states that it is quicker to file directly with him. So, I believed him and sent him yet another note asking him why it had not been sent and that I would follow up with a dispute if I did not get it...
He said if I file a dispute, he will not be able to send it to me and he said I " had his promise" that it would be shipped by the following Monday. After several unanswered emails after that, I then tried to start a dispute with Paypal. Apparently I was 6 days too late for the popcorn maker amount of $349... But I am within the 45 days of the extra shipping cost for $39. I said if I am within the time frame for the shipping charges, that should qualify for the original purchase. Paypal said they could only raise a dispute on the $39. I have opened that dispute and would like to get the WHOLE amoount back. Not sure what to do next...
