Won't stand behind piece of crap washing machine Internet

In January I purchased a brand new Maytag Washing machine. I did not purchase the cheapest thing they made and I did not purchase the most expensive one (THANK GOD) but I got a middle of the road one. To be honest, I have taken really good care of the washer because I wanted it to last.

In December of last year, I noticed a whirring noise in the spin cycle and I noticed that the machine itself seemed louder.

In March, the machine stopped at the beginning of a cycle. And I smelled an electrical burning smell. I thought maybe a belt or something. The repair man came out and the machine worked fine for him. He said "maybe you hit a bad spot in the motor" I noticed that he wrote "bad bearing" or something to effect on the receipt

It ran fine for a couple of weeks and then it stopped again. I left the switch on to see what would happen and it ran the load of clothes in about FIVE hours. It would run of five minutes and then it would stop for thirty minutes. I called the appliance store again and I talked to the gentleman in charge of appliance repair. He was looking up the different parts and telling me what it would cost if it was the timer, etc etc and just in passing he said "there have been some problems with the bearings in the motor on that model of washer"

When the repairman came out (a different guy than the one I talked to one the phone) he said the motor was gone and that he did not recommend replacing it since the motor we put in it might have the same ball bearing problem that my washer did

I had already called the Maytag CUSTOMER SERVICE (what a joke) line and the oh so polite rep said "that is what the extended warranty is for"
I agree, I should have insisted on the extended warranty My argument here is that MAYTAG KNOWS that there are problems with that model washing machine. The service manager told me that there were problems with the ball bearings in the motors

If mine was an isolated event-then fine-but I honestly don't believe that it was

This was an above average cost washing machine and it is three years old. It was not used excessively. I took good care of it. SOMETHING Needs to be done
