My wife negotiated a deal with Jason Beam of The Furniture Guys in Dallas, Tx to custom make a bed for us early in September.
We had found some furniture on eBay we liked and after searching the internet we found the same photos used on eBay on their website and deduced it was the same person. Because they didn't have what we wanted, they said they could make it.
Their website looked professional, they had a physical address, and PayPal lists them as having been paid by lots of people. We felt good about it. The bed was promised to arrive by the first week of November.
When it didn't, we emailed and were told it was being painted and we would receive a tracking number soon and the bed by the 15th. After the 15th came and went, we called and emailed over 10 times and have yet to get a reply.
I had a friend contact them pretending to want a piece made and he promptly replied to her with a price. Since then, I have reported them to the BBB and IC3 website. I decided to post it here so that others may avoid the same rip-off I fell for.
