Through www.OKBYOWNER.com, my family and I contacted Mr. West with interest in purchasing his home prior to moving to the Tulsa area. Mr. West was more than gracious, sending photos, drawings, etc. We sent Mr. West a check for $7500 to cover a down payment with the guarantee from him that the house would be ready to move-in upon our arrival a few weeks later.
Upon arrival in Tulsa, we discover that not only has Mr. West NOT vacated the home but that he also has not even started packing! Some bull story about his "other house" not being ready to move into because of missing carpet.
The five of us PLUS the dog stayed in a hotel for a week. The kids missed the first week of school and our infant son was getting no sleep and becoming rather irritable. We were tired of listening to Mr. West's horse manure excuses and finally we demanded our money back.
At first, he refused. The he decided to give us back part of the money until he was absolutely sure that our check had cleared. He returned $4000 to us of the $7500. This is the last we heard from Mr. West on the $3500 remainder of our deposit even though he clearly wrote on the check that the balance was still due us.
Warning: Do NOT do business with JimCo Construction nor any other business dealings with Jim West! The man has NO HONOR and NO INTEGRITY. You WILL be ripped off!
