Purchased a high-end JENN-AIR Dishwasher (JDB-5) from a local appliance store for $800 in 3/06 - and installed it in 5/06.
Within 30-Days of installation the product failed due to a defective part in the door hinge - causing the door to jam.
A JENN-AIR service technician determined the damage was the result of improper installation - unit simply slid into place.
The technician caused further damage to the unit attempting to open the door jam - slicing the stainless steel liner.
The technician futher noted that any further service calls would not be covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
We contacted JENN-AIR for an explanation regarding the tech's report and alluding to the fact the tech caused more damage.
Jenn-Air promised to dispatch another technician to provide a 2nd opinion or evaluation. More than 90-days later and 10 phone calls and we are still waiting for another evaluation.
We've yet to use the appliance since the original service call.
The local appliance store did not help with JENN-AIR stating that they ususally provide better service.
We're seeking a new replacement on the appliance or repair of the existing unit for the damage the tech caused.
