Ripoff sent broken items, would not replace or return cost of items

I ordered a bed, dresser and night stand from this company. Our home was being remodeled due to it being destroyed from Hurricane Katrina. I placed this order at the end of May but could not put the items together because our flooring was delayed and we did not want to set up the bedroom set until the floors were put down.

When we finally opened the boxes which sat in our garage for 6 weeks, we found the quality of them to be terrible. They were scratched, partly broken on the corners and the bed had two right sides. Although we decided to keep the night stand and the dresser, we wanted to return the bed as it was terrible quality and we didn't even think it would hold up a mattress and box spring.

After contacting this company, I was told that 30 days had gone by and they would not accept the bed. I explained to them the situation as to how the boxes stayed unopened in our garage and we had just only begun to put them together. They refused to replace the bed.

I then packed the bed up in its original box and spent $41.00 to return to them by UPS requesting a refund. When the box arrived at their office in Boston, it was marked "Refused" by them and returned to me. I am not faced with a broken bed without the proper pieces and an additional $41 in shipping costs.

I have had to replace all of my furniture due to Hurricane Katrina which was very costly. I had to buy another bed and am now "stuck" with one I cannot use and cannot return.
