Blue Haven Pools
Ripoff, no permits, shoddy work, theft of deposit, non-responsive thousands of unreturned calls, lack of proper permitting - this employee insider knows

As a former "salesperson" for Blue Haven Pools in West Palm Beach I feel it important to let the public know what is really going on.

In the past 2 years there has been gross neglect, outright theft, shoddy workmanship, thousands of unreturned calls, lack of proper permitting, lack of service for verifiable major problems and much more.
All personnel but the office manager and the scheduler are new. Everyone else was fired including sales, construction and service before competent replacements were found.

Sure, the management will tell you that the problems are getting fixed but that's if you can catch them and if they will return you call. We were told to tell the customer that the management was not in or on the phone or in a meeting and to take a message.
They were clearly available most of the time and rarely returned the phone call within two days time.

Blue Haven was barred from doing any business in Miramar, a high-end city in south Florida.
With no checks and balances, some Blue Haven salespersons had the client write out two checks, one for cash and one to Blue Haven. The cash one went into the pocket of the salesperson who endorsed it. Blue Haven is not refunding this to the client or is not showing a discount that the customer can understand.
I can't count the number of people who are waiting on a variety of permits to either start the pool, continue the build or are still waiting 6 months after the pool was finished for the Certificate of occupancy.

I personally took 18 service calls from frustrated Blue Haven customers in one hour alone. One customer called so many times that I asked her if I could come and take pictures to show the new General Manager, Jerry Perkins.
With her permission, I took pictures of her Blue Haven Pool that had: cracked and broken coping, cracked and chipping spraydeck, separation of the deck from the pool that was widening almost daily.

I showed the pictures to Jerry Perkins, the General Manager for Blue Haven Pools in West Palm Beach and he said he'd take care of it. He also told me to keep my nose out of service and construction or I'd be fired.

The unfortunate Blue Haven client still has not gotten satisfaction and was told she'd be billed for the fill dirt she needed to shore up her deck. She asked them what happened to the loads of dirt Blue Haven took away when they built the pool. She has flat ground and had more than enough dirt to use as fill.

My adviced is to steer clear of this disaster of a pool company and check out references aplenty of any company you are contemplating doing business with.
Go see completed pools of the company you are considering and speak with the owners. Check out blogs and search them. Check out the BBB reports. Ask to see the license and if the license holder is local. Check out the state report on the business and license. Make sure that your homeowners insurance is protected from illegal workers and uninsured workers.in other words, do your homework!
