I've paid these guys for policies at least 5 or 6 times as a buyer or seller over the years, and this time we paid them a ton, with extra coverage for pool, a/c system (s), etc., etc.
I have a plumbing leak, and their guy comes out, does his thing - not a bad guy - can't figure it out, but gets the $55 "inspection" "deductible".
Insurance company (First American) tells me "the claim report says it is unrelated to covered items" and that it "must be some other kind of leak". The plumber clearly knew I had a leak - he just didn't know where it was and said the insurance company should send out another guy who does pipe detection and all that kind of stuff so he could fix it without teraing open all the walls in the brand new house, etc.
INSANITY! They want to send another inspection for another $55! (I don't need the $55 - this is a 2 million $ house, but this is a joke)
That seems to be how they get out of claims... Keep needing to send inspectors during 4-hour windows for $55 each - their costs are covered, and if anyone works for a living, they eventualy get fed up with spending half their days out of the office and waiting for NOTHING.
I am wondering how I can really slap these freaks silly - they'vbe NEVER fixed a valid claim on ALL the houses I have had.
