Twenty-one days after I paid my April rent, I received a "balance due notification" (dated 4/6/06, but delivered 4/21/06 after 5:00 P.M.), typed on paper without the usual Appletree letterhead. The "notice" states to "call or come by the management office" if I had any questions. I have long ago chosen to only communicate with Appletree in writing.
Appletree never sent "any" type of notice stating what the $25 was for, so I ignored it.
Approximately 15 days after I paid my May rent, Appletree delivers another "notice" claiming another fictitious $25 balance, adding the previous false $25 balance, and just to make sure their intentions, put a late charge of $100 with a minus sign to imply that I paid my rent late, which of course I did not.
