Ashley Furniture
Ripoff, fraudulent sales, used furniture as new, poor training

Do not buy from the Ashley Furniture Home Store in Ridgecrest, CA. This is one of the newest Home Stores that was "built" in 2006. The store and 'warehouse' are not complete. They opened in February, and the 'warehouse' where customer's "new" furniture is held... Is still incomplete.

I was an employee at this location. I worked as a furniture technician. They paid me, to "fix" furniture to make it look new, to sell to the customer. I attended formal training at their 2.2 million square foot facility in Colton, CA to 'learn' to fix/coverup furniture to save the company time and money.

We averaged at this location, a 32% damage rate over the past 5 months since opening. That means 1 in 3 pieces that are ordered or come through this store, is damaged in some way, and is repaired before it goes out to the customer's home.

I have NUMEROUS photos of damage before the items were 'repaired'. We would then simply replace a broken piece of wood with some cheap particle board from Home Depot, or just spray paint over cracks. I couldn't even begin to tell you the types of crap we were forced to fix, and then send off to an unsuspecting customer as their "new" furniture.

On many occasions, we would have to remove furniture from a customers home after sitting in there for 2-3 weeks, if they were 'unhappy', and then bring it to the warehouse, stains and all... And then sit on it till someone else bought the same set, then give them the used furniture.

The people that work in the warehouse, specifically the management Michael & and Kemala (pronounced Kim) are very irresponsible. They make poor judgement calls for customer merchandise. This 8,000sq. Ft warehouse still is not complete. A dirt parking lot surrounds it, wood being sawed inside by general contractors still laying up walls for the office, and people smoking inside... All while customers furniture surrounds and picks up these things in the fabric... Is truly ashame.

They also employ currently 2 illegal immigrants named "Pete and G". Those arwe admittedly not their real names. Nobody can pronounce their Mexican names, so they came up with that. Neither are allowed to work in the U.S... They made that aware to me when laughing that they could get the same job as me... An American citizen, for the same amount of pay. Mike & (warehouse manager) is a known drug addict. He has approached me twice since my employment asking if I wanted to 'buy'. He uses the company customer service vehicle as his own each day and night, and on more than one occasion I have found his empty beer cans inside, where he drinks on company property.

He also has hired a person by the name of "Joe"... Whos real name is Jose (yes, another illegal), who is 20 years old and fresh out of a 2yr prison sentence for drug trafficing. "Joe" is related to Mike - , due to Mike dating Joe's fiance's sister... So they keep it all in the family. Joe (who is underage) also drinks with Mike — on numerous occasions, on lunch breaks, and in the company van.

This company is no good... They will sell you crap furniture as "new", when in reality it has been fixed by people with little or no training, some who aren't suppose to be working in the US... And a lot of times, it's used merchandise returned from another home.

Buyer beware!
