A year ago, we bought a top of the line Bradford White solar/electric hot water heater. The thermostat failed completely this past February. The Bradford White dealer in Kauai went out of business and could not be contacted. Bradford White is 8,000 miles away and we could a) take cold showers for months, or b) hire a local electrician to replace the defective part.
We chose b). Since the part failed well within the warranty period, I packed the defective part, a copy of the purchase invoice and several photographs to identify the product, along with a letter of explanation and sent it all to Bradford White.
It is now two months later and Bradford White has not even acknowledged receiving the package, let alone honoring their own warranty.
So if anyone is thinking about buying a Bradford White product, consider this your warning.
