I too was a Level Propane customer. Joined them in 1996 and it was great. Then came 1998 and it all changed. They continued to let me run out of propane. Was out for 3 days during the Christmas Holiday's and could not get their attention! Yes, I played all their silly games. Talk to different people, get different answers... Write letters and get no response the whole 9 yards. After being allowed to run out of fuel 3 times in the 2001 season, and paying over twice the contracted amount per gallon of fuel, I had enough! I went to my local Court House and filed a small claims report against them. As part of my filing, I identified how much I had been overcharged added in pain and suffering (for being out of fuel in zero degree weather) and my time and effort for chasing these losers. Guess what! On December 10 I went to court. Level didn't show! Of course, they called me a number of times the day before the hearing attempting to settle. That was rich! Finally, Level Propane was calling me! However, they didn't meet the deadline, so I proceeded with the hearing! The Judge ruled in my favor but cautioned collecting might be a different story. At that point, I asked that he place a mechanic's lien on thier tank that I leased. The Judge pondered that for a while and did one better. He placed a lien on all Level Propane equipment in the county I lived until my claim was settled. Surprising enough, they had a settlement in my hands by the weeks end. That also included me receiving title and ownership of the tank I had leased.
Yes, I won, but it still burns me as to how unscrupulous this company has been. If you are still battling with them, try this approach. It worked for me!
