I am an owner of a Maytag Neptune washing machine Model # MAH5500BWW. I'd give you the serial number, but as my door won't open I CAN'T! I called Maytag to schedule service for this machine. I used the website to get the procedure information for repair. While on hold waiting for assistance I looked around your website and lo and behold my machine that broke down on Thursday, September 27 is experiencing the following problem; it won't spin, the door lock light won't come on and there is an error code of LR. The person handling my service repair mentioned I should speak to claims regarding this issue. So I did. The gentleman stated that all deadlines for this claim have passed. I was unaware that there was a class action suit to begin with. He began to tell me that I didn't register my washer, which he was wrong, because you have my name, address, model and serial number on file from my registration. I NEVER received any information regarding this class action suite. He proceeded to inform me that since the "DEADLINE" has passed that the warranty is the only that is in effect. Then he explained that my control board is 5 years and my motor is 10 years. Which I was okay I will only have to pay for labor. Then he explained that No, I will have to pay for 'EVERYTHING" as it's not the motor or the control board that is wrong, it is the Left Rotor.
So I have to pay for a Drive Motor Converter kit which includes the control board and a motor, but since it's not the motor that's broken it isn't covered under warranty, but I have to have a new motor! Backtalking, double talking and dishonesty is all I conclude from this conversation. He is telling me it is going to cost at least $189.95 for the drive motor converter kit which includes the new motor and control board that are "covered" but not covered in this instance! I bought this washer because of MAYTAG'S good name. I will NEVER but another MAYTAG product and I will tell everyone I can how you do not stand behind your product even when you have a class action suit and how you manipulate your warranty to screw the consumer (I have many contacts in the retail and residential and commercial real estate building areas)!! I can see why you are being bought out... Hopefully you will not bring down the good name of any one else. I know to you I am only one person and you could care less how bad you rip-off a consumer. Shame on you! Terrible terrible company!!
