What has happened here is that we have a landlord/property-owner who thinks that he is ABOVE Federal Law. What is going on is that due to certain problems with my wife & myself with medical problems;
We fell behind in our rent. My Wife took very ill, Thus, causing us to fall behind. I also got injured at work to ad to the problems.
Austin wanted at least half of what was owed. Which comes to $1600.00. We could not borrow the money. Therfore he wanted us out of the property. Very understandable.
Now lets' talk about what happened next!
First he asked me on the last part of May; "when can we vacate the property?" I replied, "that we would not be out untill the end of June!" Well Austin would not except this.
He threatened to get as he called it, "community service, to enter the premises to put out belongings out of the premises".
Well lets talk about what has happened.
On June 8 we were serve to appear in court for eviction. Okay. BUT! On that same day, Austin turned off the water to our building.
Also I need to mention that we are renting a trailer, and that Criswell Courts is a trailer park: Owned by Austin.
On June 10th we had to go to a doctors appointment for my wife. Before we went, I called a number were you make complaints against property managers.
They stated that after I informed them on how he turned the water off, They told me that they would get an inspector out that day. They also said that you can't stay there without utilities.
My wife & myself went to her Doctors' appointment. When we came home that afternoon, we found that the inspector has put a, " Property not fit for occupancy" sticker on our window and we cant live ther untill we can move.
So with my wife suffering with a serious back problem and neuropathy, we have to bounce between a hotel & our place in order to pack.
Plus we have to worry about him trying other stunts. Austins' places' do not have any screens in them; He will not replace that or broken windows.
It is not ethical to do such a thing. Austin has these inspectors in his pocket.
He feels that no one will ever challenge him. So he does what he wants. This is not the first time he has done this. He has done it to others.
Is there any type of legal action that can be taken against him?
