In mid-May I submitted a complaint to HomeAway on their website form saying it was an emergency. The rental property I had found through their site had told me that the property was not available 10 days from the start of my trip. I then called HomeAway customer service after no response from them. The only thing they offered was to send an e-mail to the property rental company to contact me. That was not any help at all. This rental company had stopped communicating with me after they told me they were pulling my property. They had already charged $2,000 to my credit card. This company is Vacation Homes Austin and the owner is Lisa Walls. An associate of hers finally spoke with me and the only offer was to put me in a different property at the last minute. I am still trying to get my security deposit back from them. I have never heard anything from HomeAway. If that is their customer service, it is merely lip-service. I would like for HomeAway to help me in getting my security deposit back from Vacation Homes Austin. This company is completely unethical and they breeched my contract with them. The HomeAway ID number for the property I rented is 243686. This is the property they pulled from me 10 days before my trip. The property I was forced to take is ID#202521.
